High accuracy laser distance sensors
September 2006
Sensors & Transducers
Environmental Process Analytics offers a new range of laser sensors for high accuracy laser distance, level and speed monitoring. Manufactured by LOKE in Germany, a full range is offered from 0,2 to 1500 m. The range offers high accuracies matched with robust enclosures to suit varied environments. Housings range from IP65, IP66 to EEXD for hazardous applications.
A wide variety of output signals are offered including standard 4-20 mA, relay, RS232/422, Profibus DP, SSI, wireless LAN, Ethernet and Bluetooth. All ranges and responses are freely adjustable according to application requirements through a user software interface. The aiming of the laser is made simple by a visible red laser measuring beam. An additional feature is that reflectors are not always required. Motion detection is inherent. Other features include:
* Ambient temperatures from -10 to 70°C.
* Process temperature up to 1200°C on request.
* Accuracy ±2 mm.
* Resolution 1 mm.
* Repeatability ±0,5 mm.
* Size 212 x 96 x 50 mm.
* Weight 1 kg.
Options include heating and cooling jackets, programming software and air purge for contaminated environments.
Typical applications include:
* Transport positioning and control.
* Distance and level measurement.
* Security.
* Lifting.
* Parts detection.
* Conveyor tripper car positioning.
* Blockage detection.
* Ore pass level.
* Silo level monitoring.
* Locomotive positioning.
* Furnace electrode control.

Telco Sensors for blocked or empty chute detection
Sensors & Transducers
In most industries there is a problem with photoelectric sensors as highly contaminated environments make it difficult to operate and sense reliably. Telco Sensors overcomes this through its powerful high-performance infrared sensors that ensure penetration of harsh pollution to guarantee reliable detection.
