US-based Universal Flow Monitors (UFM), has appointed C&F Technologies (CFT) as the exclusive distributor in South Africa for its extensive range of flowmetering products. UFM manufacture variable-area flowmeters as well as vortex and mass flowmeters that are widely used in industrial applications. Originally designed to meet the needs of the US automobile industry, UFM's flow products have gained an increasing acceptance in industrial process applications, particularly where monitoring and control of hydraulic and cooling systems is vital to plant uptime and reliability.
"This is a very useful addition to our range of flow products," comments CFT's technical manager, John Gill, and is confirmed by the company having quadrupled sales of UFM's products in its first year of handling the range. "This shows that CFT has the expertise and experience to continue increasing sales of the UFM product range," says Gill, "hence UFM confirming its faith in our capability by appointing us as exclusive distributors."
C&F Technologies is a specialist supplier of flowmetering equipment to the mining and process industries. Based in Johannesburg, the company represents a number of high-quality overseas manufacturers, each one specialising in a particular area of flow technology that gives the company a wide flow-measurement capability.
The company's flowmetering products allow it to measure almost any fluid, be it liquid or gas, viscous or otherwise, by means of various methods. These methods include those used in variable area, turbine, target, ultrasonic, thermal mass, vortex, electromagnetic, oval-gear, spur-gear, and also oscillating piston flowmeters.
