Turck is offering a 3 mm diameter inductive sensor (the latest addition to a line of miniature picoprox sensors). The Bi1-EH03 sensor offers a 1 mm sensing range on mild steel without the need for an in-line amplifier. The LED located near the cable entry of the sensors enables the user to easily confirm that the appropriate operation is in progress. These features make it suitable for applications that require small sensors to fit in tight areas such as those found in the metal stamping industry.
The Bi1-EH03 sensors have a smooth, stainless steel barrel, with 2 m of PUR potted-in cable for increased durability in applications where cutting coolants and other harsh chemicals are present. In addition to the standard cable version, Turk has the ability to mould its standard M8 picofast and M12 eurofast connectors to the cable in varying lengths for easy installation.
These 3-wire, 10 to 30 V d.c. sensors feature integral circuitry that protects against wire-break and reverse polarity, and are available with either a PNP (sourcing) or NPN (sinking) TTL compatible output. Designed for use in industrial environments, this miniature sensor has an operating temperature range extending from -25 to +70°C, and carries a protection rating of IP67.
