By eliminating the ferrite core found in conventional inductive proximity sensors and replacing it with a unique three-coil design, Turck Uprox senses all metals at the same long range - eliminating adjustments and saving time and money. The manufacturer believes that the benefits are no less than extraordinary. Single-range sensing for all metals senses mild steel, stainless steel, copper, brass and aluminium at the same distance from the target. Users can buy fewer sensors and eliminate sensor adjustments and downtime when target materials change. Longer-ranges allow up to 350% more range than competitive sensors. Smaller sensors may be used to achieve the desired range performance.
Eliminating the ferrite core makes all Uprox sensors inherently weld-field immune. They are unaffected by strong electromagnetic AC or DC fields, such as resistance welding. False triggering is eliminated and reliable operation assured. Their design results in a wide operating temperature range (from -30 to +85°C). The sensors are available in all standard body styles and rated IP67. There are barrel and limit switch styles and unique Q-Pak shapes to choose from, with ranges up to 75 mm.
