Featuring two fully programmable relay contacts, the RTA 421 is best described as a low-cost combination of a contactor, display and power supply. Its compact housing has three pushbuttons for easy front-end configuration, with a liquid crystal display for simultaneously visible alarm set points and a ten segment bar-graph displaying the percentage value of the connected signal.
Loop power supply means that the RTA 421 is ideal for monitoring current (0,4 to 20 mA) or voltage (0,2 to 10 V) signals through connected sensors. Two independent output relays with changeover contacts are switched if values either exceed or undercut preset alarm setpoints, allowing hassle-free set point monitoring in applications ranging from plant and machine construction to panel builders, process monitoring and process control, enabling safer operation. Typical applications include temperature control and pressure switching, in conjunction with the relevant sensors also supplied by Endress+Hauser.
