The moisture in solid materials is an important parameter which influences the quality of the product and which can increase the economic efficiency of the production strongly. Humy 2000 is successful in use in many processes, eg, sugar, tobacco, grain, malt, flour, coal/coke, sand, wood chips, food, fertiliser, powder, pigments, plastic etc. Suitable installation places are particularly conveyor belts, screw conveyor, Silos, funnels etc. The in-line technology is possible for batch-processes as well.
The compact sensor permits the installation to be carried out simply and economically. The sensor measures the dielectric constant in a high frequency wave range and the high frequency damping of the solid material. The measurement principle makes a short and easy calibration possible as well as a high precision within 0,1%. The probe transmits the data digitally. This makes the measurement insensitive to disturbances and allows a distance from the communication unit to the sensor up to 1 km. The self-monitoring device includes beside an automatic compensation of temperature and ageing drift an integrated datalogger, digital- and alarm-outputs and other features. On the LC display the measurements are indicated analogously and digitally. The parameter setting of all functions can simply be done via soft-keys. Different product parameters can be stored to allow for different products and process changes. Mecosa is the sole agent for Mütec Instruments in South Africa.
