Measuring light grid

Sensors & Transducers
Measuring, counting and detecting objects of differing shape, colour and size are tasks that are beyond most sensors. Balluff believes that it has solved the problem simply, economically and flexibly with its measuring photoelectric BLG 1 light grids.
The dense beam arrangement allows even small objects down to approx. 4 mm in diameter to be reliably detected. Light grids have a digital switching output and a 0 to 10 V analog output. The switching output becomes active as soon as an object in the measuring field interrupts at least one beam. The analog signal is proportional to the number of beams covered by the object.
The compact and rugged metal housing of the BLG 1 light grid is immune to electromagnetic and optical effects. Status and diagnostic indicators simplify startup and maintenance of the sensors. The integrated electronics eliminate separate processing units. These features make the BLG 1 measuring light grid an economical and easy to use sensor system.
The BLG 1 light grid is available in measuring field heights of 100, 150 and 300 mm and ranges from 850 to 2100 mm. Applications can be found in many areas of industry and automation, wherever measuring, counting and detecting different shapes and sizes is important.
