The TS-30S Toughsonic distance sensors are designed for long service life in harsh environments featuring dual outputs and simple pushbutton setpoint without potentiometers. With a rugged transducer in a stainless steel casing, the sensors are sealed against water ingress to IP68 protection rating making them suitable for washdown or outdoor applications such as food processing or car washes. Detecting both solids or liquids and unaffected by optical factors such as colour, transparency, reflectivity or opacity, other typical applications include roll diameter, liquid level, motion control, positioning and dimensioning.
Two outputs are available in several combinations including analog 0 to 10/0 to 5 V d.c. 4-20 mA, current loop, PNP or NPN switches and RS232/485 serial interface. All outputs are relative to measured distance and adjustable anywhere in the sensor's range.
Two range models are supplied: up to 4,25 m or a shorter range of up to 1,22 m, which is useful when a small deadband is required due to space limitations. A narrow ultrasonic beam avoids unwanted obstacles and an output response filter is provided for stability with poor targets. The TS-30 Series is manufactured in the USA by Senix and is exclusive in South Africa to Instrotech.
