Siemens Germany having purchased the IP to the GPRS telemetry solution developed by Abacus and have incorporated it as a standard Siemens product.
Award winning innovation has become its trademark and is a testament to the 10 engineers who are encouraged to be innovative in providing cost effective solutions with high performance. These engineers are supported by an infrastructure of technical sales, admin and management staff to provide a complete professional team.
From its three branches in Durban, Midrand and Richards Bay, Abacus Automation is able to offer turnkey solutions involving IT/scada, PLC, drives and instrumentation. The company is able to consult, provide and service solutions from the instrument level through to the IT level.
In 2002, Abacus Automation became a BEE company through a buy in by local investors. PDIs form part of its management team. Abacus is currently formulating a skills transfer programme in which it intends to train and identify PDIs with potential at a technical level.
