PR Electronics of Denmark is offering its PReasy 4100 series - a new range of universal signal conditioning modules. Locally available from WIKA Instruments, the device features a detachable front programming unit, making for quick and easily programming to suit the specific application.
The PReasy series inputs can be configured for all types of standard industrial measuring signals such as RTD resistance sensors, thermocouple, ohms, milliamps and voltage. Depending on the desired output function, the customer can choose between the 4114 with analog output only, the 4131 with two relays only or the 4116 with analog output and two relays. All the modules feature universal power supply of 24 to 250 V d.c. and 24 to 230 V a.c.
The 4100 series is easily configured by way of the elegantly designed, detachable display face (4501). This has an LCD display with backlight to enable programming in poor visibility environments. The customer is guided through all the configuration steps by simple and explanatory help texts. When mounted in the process, the display front can be used for signal visualisation, but the modules can also function without the display front. Through this display front, the user gains access to a range of functions including sophisticated relay settings, process calibration, display settings, sensor error action and others.
When the 4501 display front is mounted on modules in the process, the customer can obtain information on process value, output value and relay state in seven different languages. A pass code can be entered into the 4100 series to disable unauthorised tampering/configuration. The 4501 can also be used to transfer data between units to simplify the programming process if configuration between units are the same.
Safe signal conditioning
The new 4100 transmitter range has been designed in accordance with PR electronics' strict demands for safety at all levels. The modules feature 2,3 kV a.c. isolation on all ports, comply with NAMUR NE43 (sensor error), NE21 (EMC), the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and UL 508.
The 4116 has been designed for application in SIL 2 circuits. The 4131 and 4116 come with two relays, which can be configured independently for monitoring of flow, level, temperature, speed or whatever measurement signal the input reflects.
The relays can be set up as single trip amplifiers, window function, sensor error detection and much more. In units featuring analog output, sensor error action on the output can be chosen freely. The elegant front programming unit permits the new 4100-series to be used on its own, without PCs, DIP-switches and jumpers, offering the user high flexibility.
WIKA Instruments with a close relationship with PR Electronics offers interesting, newly developed modules in keeping with today's demands for functionality, safety and low price.
