C&F Technologies of Randburg has been appointed as the exclusive South African distributor for the UFM (universal flow monitors) range of flow products. Michigan-based UFM manufactures a comprehensive range of flow products that are used very extensively in the monitoring of lube oil and coolant flows to various types of machinery used in production lines, as well as items of standalone equipment like crushers, mills, gearboxes, etc. UFM's main product line is a range of variable area flowmeters based on moving vane and piston type flow mechanisms that offer high reliability at relatively low cost. With a product range that covers flow rates from 522 litres/h to 6,8 kl/h, and able to handle fluid viscosities as high as 650-centipoise, the UFM range adds a new dimension to C&F Technologies' capability in the measurement of flow. UFM flowmeters are optionally available in a variety of wetted part materials that will handle a wide range of corrosive fluids.
In addition to the vane and piston type flowmeters, UFM also manufactures a range of vortex flowmeters for coolant applications as well as a range of mass flowmeters for gases. The UFM range has been widely used on South African mines and in other industries for many years.
