ML8 photoelectric sensor

This device is a reflex light beam switch, which contains the transmitter and receiver in a single housing. Sensing range is from 0-2,5 m. The transmitted light is beamed back from a reflector to the receiver. Any object interrupting the beam will activate the switch. The switch also has an integrated polarisation filter which helps with any light reflection.

The sensor may be mounted directly over the through-holes, or with an optional angled support. A yellow LED is illuminated when the beam is blocked from returning to the sensor - this is a useful indication that aids in the setting up and aligning procedure. The device is swivelled horizontally and vertically for optimal alignment and the mounting screws are tightened when the yellow LED turns off. Thereafter the device will provide trouble-free operation as long as the lens is kept clean and the mounting screws are periodically checked for tightness. The unit is waterproof and has an IP67 rating.

Supply voltage 10-30 V d.c. and ambient operating conditions: -20 to 60°C.

A plug-in, M8 version is available and the option of an integrated 2 metre cable which offers the user the different connection options.
