40 m draw-wire encoders

July 2005 Sensors & Transducers

Sourced from SIKO in Germany, specialist instrumentation company, Instrotech, stocks SGL wire actuated transducers, for measuring lengths of up to 40 m. High precision and a robust design enables use in nearly all fields of long distance measuring.

Three versions of this linear encoder are available for measuring lengths of 15 m, 27 m and 40 m. The maximum travel speed is 4 m/s, and the forced-guided wire drum ensures high operational safety. The stainless steel wire has a diameter of 1,0 mm. Tear-proof steel wire, a synthetic paraline, can be supplied as an option. Drum circumference is 400 mm. Housed in aluminium, the unit weighs approximately 9 kg.
