Sensor manufacturer, Balluff, has expanded its range of opto-sensors with the addition of the BOS 21M-PA-PT-S4, and offers a complete range of presence, contrast and luminescence sensors.
Numerous functions, as well as the use of the most current sensor technologies, cover virtually every conceivable need in this product family. The practical M12 connector can be rotated over 270° with stops at 0°, 90°, 180° and 270°. Versions with teach-in button and potentiometer ensure rapid set-up and ease of operation. With its 50 x 42,5 mm dimensions, this model is destined to become the unwritten standard of the packaging industry.
One specialty of this new family member is its ability to sense glass, as used for example in bottle conveying. This is because the device is able to detect sufficiently small differences in contrast necessary to sense glass.
All sensors in the BOS 21M family feature a complementary PNP or NPN switching output as well as CE and UL approvals. The sensor is constructed of an impact-resistant, compact metal housing, making it ideal for use in severe environments. Applications include robotics and automation as well as conveying and packaging technology. Accessories include mounting brackets, stands or dovetail clamps for optimal mounting of the BOS 21M sensor family in virtually any desired position or orientation.
