It was recently announced that the Global Supplier Agreement between the leading level sensor manufacturer VEGA, and BASF, which became effective on 1 January 2002, will be extended to 31 December 2006. The general contract specifies the worldwide delivery of VEGA level measurement technology to all BASF manufacturing locations.
BASF, well known as a leading company active in the international chemical industry, has production facilities in 40 different countries. The company particularly values long-term supplier partnerships, which make business procedures simpler and ensure stable prices. By relying on a global network of select international suppliers BASF can guarantee and even increase, the availability of its production facilities.
VEGA Grieshaber, founded in 1959, is today an international leader in level and pressure measurement as well as level detection. VEGA has been active in many countries for many years, doing business through a large number of subsidiary companies and sales partners and employing a total of 860 people.
In Europe alone VEGA is represented in 30 countries. In North and South America there are 10 branch offices, while in Asia and Australia there are 20. Africa has representation in four countries, with VEGA Instruments SA being the South African subsidiary. Exports account for more than 62% of VEGA's sales volume.
