For some time now, WIKA South Africa has, in the heart of Johannesburg, as direct neighbours the families and people of the 'Mangolongolo' Squatter Camp. The Camp consists of 160 'houses' and as many families.

With the arrival of these poor people, WIKA decided to be good neighbours to them, which is not always the norm in South Africa. In this past winter, 400 large, warm blankets were donated to the camp's residents and all the children of the camp were given warm food twice weekly during the winter months.

On 3 December 2004 all children between the ages of 3 and 13 were invited to a Christmas party organised by HR manager, Elise van der Merwe, at WIKA SA's Head Office. Around 200 children were entertained by a clown, movies and other activities. Good food and drinks were served (as well as a few sweets!) and after lunch Father Christmas came by with a present for everyone.
