AMR Automations is a software engineering company specialising in the development of value-added automation solutions for the pharmaceutical, storage and warehousing, materials handling, food and beverage and general manufacturing industries. A recent addition was the inclusion of RFID tracking to its portfolio.

Recently AMR Automations was awarded a project with Nestlé - one of the world's largest foodstuff manufacturers. It was tasked with the upgrading of the existing scada and PLC control system. The vision was to provide a gateway for all existing control systems onto Nestlé's ERP System.

This involves the introduction of Nestlé's corporate standards for networks; the replacement of existing PLCs with Allen Bradley Control Logix 5000 using Ethernet IP network topology; the installation of a Dell IO Server using Wonderware's DAServer, communicating via TCP/IP with the PLCs; replacing existing operator pushbutton stations with new stainless steel HMI stations using Wonderware's InTouch as the GUI - communicating via TCP/IP with the IO Server. The picture shows a typical architecture that AMR Automation would implement.
