In March 2004, Citect won an open tender for control system implementation and integration services for a significant Greenfield's copper plant in Zambia, known as the Kansanshi Project.

The project involved an aggressive schedule from April through August 2004 comprising the implementation and integration of CitectScada, Siemens PLCs and various Profibus devices.

Customer representatives included the consulting engineering company GRD Minproc and First Quantum Minerals (FQM)/Kansanshi Mining. The Citect Professional Services team includes Tom Taylor, Citect project manager with engineers involved from Australia and South Africa. The project was implemented in Perth, with additional FAT in South Africa and commissioning in Zambia. Citect extends special thanks to GRD Minproc and FQM for their belief in Citect Professional Services' ability to deliver to a very tight schedule, and the successful implementation of this project with teams from Citect RSA and Citect Perth working together.
