The Metrix model ST5484E from PREI Instrumentation has been rated EEx ia 11C T4 intrinsically safe and may be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. This vibration sensor is a 2-wire loop-powered transmitter which provides a 4 to 20 mA output proportional to a variety of full scale ranges from 8 to 125 mm/sec, either RMS or peak.
Additional features of this transmitter are the stable detection circuit, non-polarity sensitive terminals, 'ski-slope' protection (which eliminates the effect of resonant frequencies), high-pass and/or low-pass filters (for use in special applications such as intermeshing gears), and suitable for operation in ambient temperatures up to 100°C.
