Pressure Measurement & Control

Digital manometer with max and min function

August 2004 Pressure Measurement & Control

The compact microprocessor-controlled Leo 2 pressure-measuring instrument with digital indication includes minimum and maximum functions. Characteristic values of the piezoresistive pressure transducer are stored on the internal EEPROM to calculate pressure over the temperature range of 0 to 50°C to an accuracy of 0,1%. Instrotech imports this unit from Swiss manufacturer, Keller.

Pressure is measured twice per second and displayed. The top display indicates actual pressure, while the bottom display shows the max or min pressure since the last reset. The Leo 2 automatically turns off 15 minutes after the last key function or can be set to operate continuously.

There are two operating keys. The left is to turn the instrument on, select the functions and pressure units. The right executes the select function or unit and is also used to switch between the max or min value. Zero function allows any value to be set as a new zero reference for barometric pressure variations compensation. Pressure measurement is factory set in the ranges -100 to 300 kPa or 100 kPa to 3 MPa at 0 kPa absolute. Instruments for the ranges 0 to 3 MPa or 0 to 7 MPa are calibrated in a sealed gauge mode with 1 bar absolute pressure as a zero reference. Pressure can be indicated in bar, mbar/hPa, kPa, MPa, PSI or kp/cm2.

Sized at a compact 59 x 95 x 32 mm, Leo 2 can be rotated through 360°. Only minimal tightness is needed to seal up to 3 MPa. An intrinsically safe version is available - which incorporates an additional protection switch.
