Publication cites diversified technology giant for innovation

August 2004 News Integrated Solutions

Honeywell has been named one of Start magazine's hottest companies, an award recognising companies that improve manufacturing processes through unique and reliable technology solutions. This marks the second year in a row that Start singled out Honeywell for its next-generation process automation system known as Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS).

"Honeywell is a company that we believe is consistently striving to change the landscape of manufacturing," said Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Start magazine. "The Experion technology deserves special recognition for helping manufacturers to improve overall business performance."

Honeywell Experion PKS unifies people with process, business and asset management to help process manufacturers increase profitability, efficiency and productivity. Experion collects and integrates process and business data across the entire facility, making information and knowledge readily available and enabling people to make the right decisions. From the time Experion was introduced to the marketplace, Honeywell has received orders for more than 1000 systems.

"This honour from Start magazine confirms that Honeywell is fulfilling key imperatives - providing customers with immediate results that positively impact their bottom lines and improving their peace of mind," said Jack Bolick, president of Honeywell Process Solutions. "Honeywell will continue to search for new and unique ways of delivering value to the manufacturing sector."

The Start Hottest Companies Award recognises software and hardware vendors that have developed innovative applications or products for the manufacturing industry. Nominees were asked to describe their essential product or service, provide their growth record for the last three years, explain how their product or service was unique and pinpoint reasons they were 'hotter' than their competitors.
