BEE company appointed as cabling and networking supplier
August 2004
News
Dimension Data's Advanced Infrastructure division has appointed Falcon Electronics as its primary supplier of cabling products. The partnership sees Dimension Data Advanced Infrastructure spending a majority of its monthly procurement budget for cabling products with Falcon Electronics.
Falcon Electronics will place consultants on-site at Dimension Data's Advanced Infrastructure division, where they will be responsible for the assessment of product specifications, purchasing of products and its overall procurement logistics.
"I believe that this partnership will benefit both parties as it allows us to focus on our core business of servicing our customers whilst allowing Falcon to do what they do best - procurement and logistics," says Pieter Steenekamp, general manager at Dimension Data Advanced Infrastructure.
"As a black economic empowered (BEE) company with a national footprint and stable business operations, we are fully prepared to set up Dimension Data's procurement infrastructure and manage the company's purchasing, delivery and stock holding processes," says Mervin Scorgie, marketing manager of Falcon Electronics.
"I believe that this is an ideal partnership that will see Dimension Data and Falcon Electronics optimising its strengths and maximising service delivery to its clients," concludes Steenekamp.
