Turck is offering its new Q18 proximity sensor, a new addition to its rectangular Q-Pak line. Similar in style to the Q25 and Q30 series of inductive sensors, these one-piece rectangular sensors measure only 18 x 18 x 29 mm. The Q18 sensors provide a low cost solution in applications where standard barrel sensors do not.
The new one-piece rectangular housing offers a non-embeddable sensing range of 5 mm designed for non-contact sensing of metal objects. The 3-wire DC, 10 to 30 V d.c. sensors feature circuitry that protects against short-circuit, overload, wire-break and reverse polarity. They are also available with normally open NPN (sinking) or PNP (sourcing) outputs.
Designed for use in industrial environments, the Q18 sensors features a durable PBT plastic housing that allows it to operate in temperatures from -25 to +70°C which is rated IEC IP 67.
