Pressure Measurement & Control

New pressure transmitter

July 2004 Pressure Measurement & Control

LABOM is offering its newly developed pressure transmitter using 'smart' module technology under the brand name Pascal CV.

The term 'smart module technology' heralds a new product concept. Users can choose from a wide range of different functional modules and process connections, obtaining the best possible equipment for their specific operating requirements without the disadvantages of higher prices or longer lead times.

'Smart' functional modules can also be used subsequently for display, switching or communication purposes. Convenient 'plug technology' means that the functional modules can be exchanged or extended with ease, without having to remove the Pascal CV pressure transmitter from the process ('plug and measure'). Automatic module detection renders programming redundant.

These devices are a suitable solution for the relative and absolute pressure measurement of gases and liquids for the food, pharmaceuticals and chemicals/petrochemicals industries, as well as for general process measurement technology.

Other features include:

* Stainless steel housing and process connection, hygienic design.

* Signal output 4 to 20 mA, optional with HART protocol or Profibus PA.

* Optional multifunctional display and/or switching module.

* Accuracy <0,25%.

* Turndown 5:1.

* Directly aerated piezoresistive measuring cell without internal gasket.

* All common (and uncommon) process connections.

* High level protection against moisture (IP66).

* Measuring temperature -20 to +90°C, optional -20 to +160°C.

* Explosion-proofing as per ATEX.
