Loop powered RMS voltage transducers

LEM has introduced a new family of voltage transducers ATVR series for the true RMS measurement of AC voltage in the range of 120, 250 and 400 V.

The new series provides a ±1% measurement accuracy and has galvanic isolation between the primary and the secondary circuit of up to 2,5 kV. The bandwidth is 40 Hz to 5 kHz and the response time is better than 250 ms. The 4 to 20 mA loop powered output is adaptable for many types of control (PLC, computer, etc). The case is DIN rail mounting at 22,5 mm with finger safe terminals.

The ATVR series is suitable for applications where the voltage measurement has to be more accurate than a monitoring relay (eg, voltage drop or over voltage which can have a critical influence on PLC or computers). The true RMS function also provides an accurate measurement for pulsed or noisy signals, as experienced when in close proximity to a variable frequency drive, for example.
