Sensors for hazardous gas areas
May 2004
Sensors & Transducers
IFM Electronic has introduced a new range of inductive sensors for use in Zone 2 hazardous gas areas according to the category 3G. Types IFT22A, IGT20A and IIT22A are manufactured in high-grade stainless steel and have increased sensing ranges from 3,5 to 14 mm for flush mountable applications.
Available in threaded M12, M18 and M30 designs, the sensors meet IP67 protection requirements and ensure a long operation life in demanding applications. Due to special laser labelling, the units can still be identified years later. Connection is made via a robust, easy-to-mount M12 connector with gold-plated contacts.
Operating on 10 to 36 V d.c. the sensors are protected against short circuits, overloads and reverse polarity and are suited for use in a 0 to 60°C temperature range.
