SI makes quality official
April 2004

Twelve years of compliance with international quality standards put leading safety manufacturer, MSA Africa, on a sound platform for achieving its latest SABS/ISO 9001:2000 listing.
All companies listed as SABS/ISO 9000:1994 were required to be relisted before 15 December 2003. "After 12 years of applying SABS/ISO 9002, we already had the policies, procedures and, above-all, the people, in place to ensure a smooth transition to the new standard," said MSA Africa spokesperson, Jim Dodds. "Full compliance has been facilitated by the full and ongoing commitment from top management," he said. "Their hands-on involvement, coupled with the full co-operation from all MSA employees ensured a seamless changeover."
For MSA, accreditation means the company competes on an equal footing in global markets. "MSA is seen to meet a high and recognisable standard in our systems and processes, which is vital for us as a safety company," he added. "The new standard also requires that our quality system is dynamic and undergoes continual improvement throughout the company operations."
