The FLOWSIC 600 gas counter from Protea Automation Solutions operates with the use of ultrasound, and is able to measure and count the gas volume, without contact and without loss of pressure in industrial applications. The high precision, compact instrument can be used in high-pressure pipelines in the natural gas industry and in process gases in the chemical and petrochemical industry.
With a typical power consumption of less than 1 W, the instrument can be run on solar energy making it suitable for use in remote regions. Due to its low power consumption, FLOWSIC 600 can also be operated on an intrinsically safe basis. The geometric precise enclosure is produced using CNC methods with tight manufacturing tolerances which must be maintained. New evaluation algorithms and modern signal processing electronics also contribute to the gas counter's accuracy.
Miniaturised high frequency transducers match the ultrasound effectively with the gas, while the completely metallic construction increases the operating life of the transducers.
