AS-i sensor modules with diagnostic function

IFM Electronic's ClassicLine sensor modules enable the connection of sensors with additional diagnostic signals to AS-i masters according to the 2.1 specification. The evaluation of peripheral faults or communication errors is made automatically in the master.

ClassicLine AC 2501 modules provide 200 mA supply from AS-i. Up to four photoelectric sensors, proximity switches or similar electronic sensors with pnp output stage can be connected. Four standard M12 sockets allow connection of both the switching signal and the FKT function check signal from the sensor. The FKT signal can be reprogrammed from a normally open signal to a normally closed signal via the AS-i parameter bits and thus adapted to the sensor function.

The AC 2502 sensor actuator module has a teach output and up to two SEW Moviswitch drives or low wattage solenoids may be connected to it. It is possible to trigger 'start/stop' and evaluate 'ready for operation' signals.

ClassicLine modules are used in areas with specific diagnosis and adjustment of switchpoints such as in the case of changing media. Dual sensors and drives with combined control and feedback can also be connected.
