A new economy version of the well-known Metrix vibration transducer model 5484C is now available from local agents PREI Instrumentation. With fewer options and no hazard rating, the price has been reduced by 40%, while retaining the quality and the reliability of this machine protection product.
The model 6917 vibration transducer uses M6 mounting stud and a MIL style connector to provide a 2-wire loop-powered 4-20 mA signal proportional to velocity. The range can be 12,7; 25; or 50 mm/s, either RMS or peak responding. It has a stainless steel housing, rated NEMA 4X, IP67 and can operate at temperatures up to 100°C. The frequency response is 3 to 1000 Hz, and it can be mounted in any orientation. This low cost transmitter is suitable for blowers, motors, pumps and other rotating machinery operating in non-hazardous conditions.
