Safety barriers for dangerous machinery

Reer has released details of the new Admiral AX photoelectric safety barriers. The type 4 barriers are designed to solve the problems connected with protecting dangerous plant and machinery with high-risk levels.
Operating without the need of a control unit, the safety barriers have a scanning range of either six or 18 metres and offer a choice of protected heights from 160 mm to 1,81 m, reduced dimensions of the cross section, as well as simplicity of connection and installation. The AX range consists of an emitter and receiver and the barriers are equipped with fail-safe PNP static outputs and a user-selectable automatic or manual restart function. Finger, hand and body detection is provided as well as beams for body detection in access-controlled areas.
Master and slave models allow connection of two barriers in series as well as those with a blanking function. LEDs indicate correct alignment and beam status, and any malfunction or faults are displayed by the diagnostics system.
