Robust Coriolis mass flowmeters

November 2003 Flow Measurement & Control

Yokogawa Europe recently released its Rotamass 3 series Coriolis mass flowmeter. The unit is an enhanced version of Rotamass, which is Yokogawa's best-in-class in-situ performance mass flowmeter featuring discrete, parallel, thick-walled, seamless tubes that are decoupled from process vibration and pipeline stress. Rotomass has a proven design that is robust and reliable. With its multimeasurement and parameter capability, it is essentially a process control station.

Easy to install, the instrument has a fully sanitary, self-draining design that meets EHEDG requirements and is capable of operating at temperatures as high as 350°C. Steam tracing and thermal insulation are available as options. Some of the enhanced features of this meter include temperature range from -200 to +350°C, pressure rating of 25 MPa, gas and solid content up to 20% and an increased system accuracy (to within 0,1%).

The field proven 'box-in-box' design of the sensor with its thick-walled parallel tubes that decouple the sensor from external plant vibrations and pipe stress guarantees performance and reliability under tough operating conditions. The measuring tubes are available in 316SS, Hastelloy C22, Hastelloy B, and titanium for maximum application flexibility. Suitable for cryogenic, molten solids, and sanitary applications, the Rotamass 3 Series is a versatile Coriolis flow meter.
