The wide range Momentum 170ADM 850 10 I/O module from Telemecanique is designed to operate in control applications powered by 12, 24, or 48 V d.c. power supplies. Features of the module include 16 discrete inputs conforming to the IEC 61131-2 Type 1+ standard for 12, 24, and 48 V d.c. input devices. These outputs are rated at 0,5 A per point and include solid-state output protection.
The built-in power supply, which accepts input power sources ranging from 10 to 60 V d.c. also provides the power to operate the I/O module, along with the communication adapter or processor with an option adapter. This I/O module is compatible with all existing Momentum accessories. An input power sensing capability enables the module to select the correct 'turn ON' and 'turn OFF' levels for each of the voltage ranges.
Fitting a wide range of discrete control applications - including on-board vehicle applications, RTU or traffic signal control, mining and substation automation, the DC module can be integrated into control systems using Concept V2.5 or ProWORX 32. Alternatively, the device may simply be used as distributed I/O on either a ProfiBus DP or DeviceNet network.
