Level sensors for plastic processing industry

IFM Electronic has introduced a new range of capacitive level sensors specifically designed for the plastic processing industry. The M30 sensors reliably detect a wide range of plastics in different materials, grain sizes and surface characteristics despite differences in residual moisture and temperature. The highest EMC immunity level is achieved through the use of patented noise-immune electronics. With their intelligent microprocessor technology, the sensors are even able to detect pre-dried granules.

Optimum sensitivity adjustment to suit the medium is made automatically by the press of a pushbutton. The front face of the sensor is rated for temperatures up to 110°C and it can be mounted in direct contact with the sight glass. The time consuming setting of an air gap is no longer necessary. Due to their mechanical structure, the sensors are specially immune to the electrostatic discharges which occur whenever plastics are conveyed.

The user has the choice between DC and AC units and the universal switching output can be programmed to be either NC or NO. Two highly visible LEDs on the side and back of the sensors clearly indicate the switching status.
