The Bell 500 Series portable Hall-effect gaussmeters, available from PREI Instrumentation are simple and effective magnetic measuring instruments. The inexpensive basic model measures DC fields up to 25 kg with an accuracy of 4%, while the top model measures DC and true RMS AC fields up to 30 kg with an accuracy of 1%.
All models are battery operated, have a detachable transverse probe, a 3½ digit LCD, and indicate Gauss or Tesla. The instrument functions include auto zero, max/min hold, peak hold and auto range. The top model also has an analog output and an RS232 communications port. User prompts on the LCD allow fast, simple pushbutton operation. Axial and other style probes are available as options. These 5000 series gaussmeters are suitable for use in both sensitive laboratory environments and rugged industrial settings.
