BASF, the multinational chemical company based in Germany, and Endress+Hauser have signed a global supplier contract, making Endress+Hauser the global supplier of flow, level and pressure measuring instruments to BASF.
The contract was signed on the basis of a long-standing, working relationship between the two companies, as well as Endress+Hauser's strong foothold in the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. BASF has been using Endress+Hauser instruments for many years, many of which were custom-made for the special needs of BASF branches around the world.
"The contract is a strong corroboration of our product and service strategies," says Hugo Lang, international business director at Endress+Hauser. "It also confirms the claim that we do supply these products and services to our customers reliably and in highest quality in every country in the world."
BASF is pursuing a supplier reduction programme worldwide, in all business and production areas. The programme is aimed at cost reduction through close cooperation with reliable key suppliers. BASF has 93 000 employees worldwide and achieved a turnover of 32,5 bn Euro in 2001. The company has production facilities in 38 countries.
