Configurable buffer amplifier supply

July 2003 Electrical Power & Protection

The MCR-C-UI/UI-DCI-24/230 configurable standardised-signal 3-way buffer amplifier from Phoenix Contact processes the three standardised signals 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA and 0-10 V on the input side. Thanks to the universality of signal isolation it is now possible to use just one module for different applications. The warehousing costs are reduced while system availability increases.

The 3-way isolation between the signal input and output or the supply is designed as 'protective separation' with a test voltage of 4 kV. Depending on the application, the limit frequency for signal transmission can be set to either less than 10 Hz or, for fast control processes, to approximately 10 kHz.

On the output side all three standardised signals are also available. Calibration following configuration is not necessary, as each transmission version is already stored calibrated in the unit, with a transmission error less than 0,1%.

The 3-way standardised-signal buffer amplifier can run off a wide range of power supply voltages: 20-253 V a.c./d.c. and is available mounted in a 0,5" (12,5 mm) wide housing with a pluggable screw connection.
