Switched-mode power supplies from 1 to 40 A
April 2003
Electrical Power & Protection
IFM Electronic has introduced a new range of reliable switched-mode power supplies from 1 to 40 A for DIN rail mounting with a wide range of inputs of 90 to 260 V a.c. for one-phase and 340 to 576 V a.c. for three phase power supplies.
Suitable for industrial and domestic use, the power supplies meet EMC standards. All units have short circuit, overload and no-load protection, and at operating temperatures <45°C, the power supplies can be operated continuously in the overload mode. This means that they supply 10 to 20% more current in the case of overloads, while voltage is regulated down, an important feature when inductive loads are switched on.
The devices are also vibration and shock resistant, their regulated precision is better than ±2%, and the output noise suppression complies with EN 50081-1 requirements. Identical power supplies can always be operated in parallel, and due to different start-up times, the first power supply will take the nominal load, and the second, the remaining load. The type DN switched-mode power supplies can buffer short power failures up to 37 ms and for higher currents up to 10 ms.
