Congratulations to all the elected branch committee members following the AGMs in January!
Thank you for taking the time to commit in helping within the SAIMC in this way. Your work will ensure that our members get the opportunity to network and also learn about the relevant technology within our industry. Enjoy this year with your committee. Please bring your ideas to ensure that the SAIMC is continuously improving. We are excited to see what the teams will deliver.
Using data more proactively and consciously
Most companies are shifting their focus on data analytics. And one has to critically ask if the opportunities to use the data available are really being used and planned for in company strategies. Projections show that with the increase in data availability with the use of 5G technology, that less that 25% of the data available will be used within industry. IoT will truly change the landscape as we perceive it currently.
Using as an example the ‘Future X’ architecture example. Architects will build networks towards used case led deployment. Employing strategies that include:
• Business applications: Including workforce efficiency and asset optimisation.
• Digital value platform: Including digital operations and industrial automation.
• Multi cloud connectivity.
• High performance networking.
• Dynamic security: Ensuring your data is protected.
We are living in exciting times for automation. Companies have the opportunity to redefine and enhance themselves by using data. It is exciting to be part of this era of evolution.
