We have reached spring and a gorgeous time of renewal in nature. In industry, companies are busy with their automation and digitalisation journeys, pursuing their own ‘seasonal’ change in order to stay relevant and competitive.
Thought leadership initiative
The SAIMC continues to lead the way with Industry 4.0 by partnering with all relevant role-players to influence the future of our country for the better. As the voice of automation in South Africa, we are the architects of change. But to do this effectively, we must integrate our Industry 4.0 initiative (led by Marc Van Pelt) and our NTIP training initiative (led by Johan Maartens) to ensure we approach the current problems holistically in order to benchmark South Africa against other economies that have already undertaken the journey.
As part of this process, we need your input!
What are the requirements regarding Industry 4.0 specifications, education and training? The answer requires feedback from end-users, suppliers, educators and all other relevant parties across South Africa’s industry segments. This is the only way to make sure we identify all the gaps. And only then, will we be able to say where we need to improve.
Please get in touch with us and let your voice be heard. We need representation from end-user, suppliers, educators and government. We are actively pursuing everybody’s input in order to align in the SAIMC with the appropriate partners. If you have not had the opportunity to discuss your views with us, please get involved in one of our initiatives.
NTIP (National Tools and Industry Partnership) initiative
NTIP has reached an exciting point. The SAIMC will host a breakfast in September where stakeholders are welcome to join and ask questions about the new model. All parties responsible for developing and managing the relevant funds and programmes will be available to answer questions on any aspect of the initiative.
This is a great opportunity to get involved. But if you can’t make it, the session will also be available via web-cast so that you are able to get the information afterwards. If you are involved in training and have a vested interest in this initiative, please join us. Be part of the change that is required, and help ensure it is done correctly and to a standard that will make us all proud.
