For the September Technology Evening, Jaco Marneweck from the National Regulator for Compulsory Specification (NRCS), presented to us on the subject of ‘Legal requirements for custody transfer meters’. The presentation gave an overview of legal metrology and the NRCS’s role in relation to this, as well the benefits of adopting legal metrology. Some examples were presented along with the work procedures and then the inspection aspects were discussed. The presentation ended with some case studies to emphasise the importance of the subject.

First Robotics SA: Johan Maartens, from the SAIMC, and Johannes de Vries, from First SA, are in discussions to conclude the revised MoU. It is envisaged that once this is completed, all parties will sign after due consideration for the respective needs has been considered.
