The Tshwane branch held its first committee meeting of the year, and put the following preliminary plans in place (see tables below). Please note that much of this still needs to have final confirmation, but it gives a clear indication of what’s ahead and what to diarise in the coming months. The gaps will be filled in as the year progresses.

The SAIMC (Society for Automation, Instrumentation, Measurement and Control) is a voluntary non-profit association of ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa). The Pretoria branch is active in the Tshwane metropolitan and focuses on long term strategic industry guidance, youth up skilling through the promotion of STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics), driving industry best practice and knowledge transfer of the latest technology and innovation. This is done through various channels like FIRST Lego League, monthly industry relevant presentations, site visits to manufacturing facilities and active interaction with various educational institutions.
