The August Technology Evening was hosted by Kenneth McPherson from Beckhoff Automation (email@example.com), on the topic “Enabling Industry 4.0”. Kenneth discussed the possibilities of online configuration changes, to enable production in a lot size of 1. This allows for personalised configuration changes to be cost effective. Also, the optimisation opportunities of connected instrumentation allow configuration settings to be autonomously updated, which leads to improved operations.
