For the October Technology Evening, the team from McKinsey and Company discussed management consulting and shared some success stories.
Nhlanhla (Fats) Dlamini started us off with a quick history of the company and himself. McKinsey and Company was founded in 1926 in Chicago and has grown to over 100 offices in 60 countries with expertise in all industries. By working together with their clients they have assisted them in merges, increased production etc.
Left to right: Nhlanhla Dlamini (Fats), Vanessa Malgas, Bulalwa Vundla, Muhammad Simjee and branch chairman Christiaan Steyn.
Next, Muhammad Simjee talked us through some of the projects he is involved in:
• Doubling the size of high tech South African company.
• Running the Office of the CIO.
• Transforming patient experience in hospitals.
The branch thanks the McKinsey and Co team for taking the time to introduce us to the life of a consultant. Please visit the SAIMC website for the full presentation.
Note: There has been a change in the committee, Eben Grobbler has accepted a position in Secunda and will be moving at the end of November, Christiaan Steyn has taken over as chairman. The Vaal Branch wishes Eben all the best with his new endeavour.
