The annual AGM was held during February at Umhambi Lodge. The treasurer’s report was presented by Wilson Maminimini. Wilson explained that most of the income was generated from the Technology Evenings as well as the planned events such as the golf day and the year end function. He thanked all the sponsors for their continued support, including: Thermo Fisher, Schneider, EOH, DesSoft, ICA, ABB, PULSE Control systems, GFG, Endress+Hauser, Valve & Automation, Beckoff, SICK Automation, Artsolar, IFM, Philco systems, Flowmetrix, Everest and Exilarate Automation Systems.
The chairman’s report was presented by Mervyn Govender, who gave an insight on the year 2013 in review and explained what has been going on behind the scenes on the journey to transformation within SAIMC. He then went on to dissect the challenges we face as a branch and the way forward.
A total of 17 members were nominated and 11 accepted the nominations. It was agreed to accept all the nominated members into the committee. The allocation of the portfolios was done at the next committee meeting. The Richards Bay branch 2014 committee is as follows:
