Industrial videoscope for equipment inspection applications
December 2018Maintenance, Test & Measurement, Calibration
RS Components has introduced the rugged diagnostic videoscope from Fluke that targets maintenance engineers and other professionals needing to undertake equipment inspections and diagnose problems in a wide variety of industrial applications.
The rugged new instrument offers a high resolution of 800 x 600. Other key features include high-definition probes that come with dual-view cameras, enabling video or still images to be taken in hard-to-reach locations; 7-inch LCD viewscreens; and IP68-rated probes and imagers for protection against dust and water projected from a nozzle.
The unit offers a macro-to-micro zoom function and Fluke’s ‘Up is Up’ technology, which is designed to rotate the screen to enable better image views. An intuitive user interface also offers easy-to-navigate button technology. The device has been built to withstand a drop of 2 metres, and is supplied with an EVA foam protective case, hand strap, and HDMI and USB cables.
Typical applications targeted include inspection of bearing surfaces and lubrication in production and manufacturing environments; aircraft maintenance and automotive quality assurance; as well as other heavy-duty maintenance applications such as the inspection of clogged pipelines or corrosion in rotors. Key for these types of inspection applications are rugged, powerful and high-resolution videoscopes that deliver a clear update on the condition of internal components in equipment and other electrical systems, thereby enabling professionals to quickly and easily identify issues and schedule preventive maintenance to avoid expensive system shutdowns.
