Yokogawa India has been entrusted by the state government of Rajasthan with the implementation, operation and maintenance of an integrated water information management system (WIMS) in Jaipur, as part of the Smart Cities Mission.
The WIMS initiative aims to establish a centralised monitoring system for both the potable water supply and industrial and municipal wastewater systems across the state to optimise resource utilisation and improve service delivery. Yokogawa will leverage the open, scalable architecture of its FAST/TOOLS scada system to integrate legacy installations in one hundred geographically remote locations into a single network. It will also be responsible for implementing water network management and analytics software, as well as developing mobile applications for field personnel. Water flow and energy consumption data from the multiple scada systems will be transferred regularly to a central command centre and data storage facility. The multimillion-dollar project will be completed in November 2018, after which Yokogawa will provide 24/7 onsite facility management services for five years.
