SAIMC: Johannesburg branch

The Johannesburg SAIMC branch held its annual general meeting at the Rivonia Country Club on 13 February. Attended by over 35 members, the branch mapped out the calendar for the year as well as introducing the committee members for 2013: Gary Friend, Willem Nel, Roxanne Bredenkamp, Johan van Jaarsveldt, Andrew Bharath, Jay King, Mike Banda, Debbie Scott, Eric Carter (vice chairman) and Alvin Seitz (chairman). The branch welcomes Mike Banda from Yokogawa and Willem Nel from Loadtech Loadcells onto the 2013 committee.

The following events were planned with details to follow:

* 8 Technical Evenings with presentations.

* Golf day.

* October Fest.

* Year-end function.

* Representation at road shows as well as Process Expo.

* Site visits.

Johan van Jaarsveldt presented the financials and Vinesh Maharaj talked about the vision of the SAIMC.

If you have ideas for site visits and technical topics that you would like to know more about, please do not hesitate to contact any of the committee members who will endeavour to organise or get industry experts to present on the topic.
