StrikeAlert is a convenient, dependable and easy-to-use portable lightning detector designed to provide early warning of approaching lightning strikes, from as far away as 60 kilometres, and inform if the storm if approaching or moving away.
An audible alarm sounds when there is a strike and a corresponding LED light illuminates accordingly at lightning distances of 32 - 64 km, 19 - 39 km, 10 - 19 km and within 10 km.
The detector is housed in a small pager-like casing that can be clipped on a belt loop and runs on two AAA batteries. It is perfect for when working outdoors in the open, like on mines, and for sporting events like golf.
