International presenters from Yokogawa’s headquarters in Japan, independent industry experts from the oil and gas and mining and minerals sector, as well as Yokogawa’s own customers which share insights on industry best practices and demonstrate how Yokogawa products and advanced solutions have resolved various challenges experienced in their respective industries.

Presented over three days, delegates will learn about industry best practices and understand the latest advances in Yokogawa product and solutions while interacting with the company’s subject matter experts and networking with fellow users. Various Yokogawa business partners and suppliers will also be onsite to present their offerings to the audience including Beckhoff, Pepperl+Fuchs, Profitek, Extech and Weidmuller.

“To support our drive towards continuous improvement, we have themed the upcoming Africa Users Conference as ‘Gemba Kaizen’, the Japanese phrase for ‘Continuous Improvement’. Our loyal customers will demonstrate how we effected continuous improvement at their operations, thus adding value to their business. Yokogawa is committed to developing and supplying solutions and services with optimum quality and reliability thereby contributing to industrial growth in Africa. Working together we believe we can co-innovate tomorrow,” explains Johan Louw, managing director of Yokogawa South Africa.

The first afternoon of the event focuses on Yokogawa’s future technology and business outlook, strategies and total solutions with the hope of attracting some of South Africa’s top business COOs, managing directors, technology officers and ICT managers. The day will culminate with a banquet dinner where delegates will hear from South African economist, Dawie Roodt, who will offer a fresh approach on our current economic climate.

The following two days will be more technical in content concentrating on user experiences, product launches, technology key notes and renowned personalities from South African industry. Amongst the noteworthy speakers, PwC’s Africa oil and gas advisory lead and partner, Chris Bredenhann, will provide a 2016 review on the oil and gas market, focusing on the last 12 months within the major and emerging African oil and gas countries. In addition, Wickus Botha, the Africa mining and minerals sector lead from Ernst & Young will talk about the volatility experienced in the mining and metals sector and suggest ways in which companies can develop plans for long-term profitability.

As a prelude to the event, Yokogawa will host a charity golf day for conference delegates on Tuesday 18 October at the Randpark Golf Course, with South Africa’s favourite comedian, Barry Hilton. Delegates will be entertained with an afternoon of prizes and good food. This event will focus on raising money for the Star Academy, a respected authority on autism treatment in Africa which provides tailor-made applied behaviour analysis programmes to children on the autism spectrum.

Delegates registering for all three days of the conference will earn CPD points – www.yokogawa-events.com
